DePere~Embroidery Club-Feb. 2019

The technique this month is Back Side Applique- this technique comes in handy if you want to embroider on something and don't want the back side of the stitching to show. An example would be a canvas tote or a shirt that is worn open. The designs are set up to use a 3" square for the applique-there are 4 motifs. In club Kimberly will demo how you can make your own designs using the built in functions on both the Baby Lock machines and how to get the applique shape. I've done a bunch of Bonus designs-some use AccuQuilt Dies, but don't worry if you don't have the dies or cutter, you'll be able to use the technique you learn in club to get the shapes you need.

DePere/Serger Club~Feb. 2019

Spring and Summer will be here before you know it! The next project will come in handy, during those sunny days! This month we will be making a Steering Wheel Sun Shade. This project has lots of piping to give it a nice tailored look. You will learn the following techniques: turning a piped corner, make an invisible join and working with intersecting piping. The sun shade has Insul-bright sandwiched between the outer and lining to help reflect the heat. The cover is 19" wide and the side is 1", so it should fit most standard steering wheels. The front is also the perfect place for embroidery!

Darboy/Improv Tote

The Improv Tote is a great way to use up some of your stash, or purchase strips already cut ( Bali Pops). You can make a one of a kind tote. This class is for anyone who enjoys sewing. $20
