Supplies: Regular sewing machine with zig zag capabilities. Embroidery machine with hoop. needles for both sewing and embroidery. thread for sewing and embroidery (colors depend on your design). Dissolve away mesh stabilizer. painters tape, embroidery design of your choice ( simple light weight designs will work best.) Keep in mind you do not want to spend your whole class embroidering so keep in mind when choosing design)   Clothes line or rope ( you can see a sample of what I used at the store to get an idea of the weight and thickness.) You can find at Menards or Home Depot. You do not want a stiff or firm rope but a softer rope The amount of rope depends on the size of the bowl that you would like to make .
