Mystery Sampler Block of the Month - West Bend
In this series you will be making 12 different quilt blocks. It will run for 5-6 months where you will be given the “secret” directions each month for 2-3 blocks. At the end of the classes, you will have a completed sampler quilt top measuring approximately 54” x 67”. You may easily make extra blocks for a larger quilt.
Clues for the quilt: This will be a scrappy sampler block quilt. The more fat quarters you use the scrapper it will be. If you want it less scrappy, you may select to use ½ yard cuts. You will only need 10. For better results I would suggest having all 3 values in your fabric selections (lights, medium, & darks) . Something to keep in mind is the standard queen size quilt is 70” x 90”. To achieve this size it would be necessary to make 7 additional blocks.
Supply List:

Supply List:
1.Sewing machine in good working order and have the basic knowledge of how your
machine functions.
2.¼” foot for your machine
3.6 1/2” x 24” ruler and a 6” square ruler
4.Rotary cutter
5.Can of sizing or starch. Best Press works well
6.40 wt. Thread in a neutral color or color that will match your fabrics
7.Size 75/11 or 80/12 quilting needle for machine
8.Seam ripper
9.Small scissors
10.Pins
11.Wonder clips
12.Any other basic sewing supplies you made need
