Lil’ Billie Table Runner - Appleton

Join us for this brand new pattern, Lil’ Billie. The Lil’ patterns are based off some of the GE full sized patterns.  GE will be releasing new Lil’ patterns every other month this year.  Watch for other classes.

We’ll sew a 16” by 40” table runner using 5” squares and a border fabric. We’ll go thru step by step cutting & piecing, so that if you don’t complete it during the class, you’ll be able to finish it at home.  These make great gifts!

Skill Level: Confident Beginner – should be comfortable using rotary cutter and be confident in ¼” seams

Required Supplies:

• GE Designs Lil’ Billie pattern – available at KK Sew & Vac

• Stripology Squared Mini or Stripology Quarters Mini Ruler (can also use the Squared or XL rulers, but these are just a little more to handle for the smaller pieces)

• Rotary cutter (w/sharp blade) & cutting mat (that fits your ruler)

• Sewing Machine, thread, scissors, and your favorite sewing tools

Optional helpful items

• GEasy ruler stickers – super helpful for this pattern!

Fabric Requirements:

• 48 5” squares – from your stash, a charm pack with additional coordinating squares to total 48 or a Lil Fabric Kit available at KK.

Lil Fabric Kits will contain 12 6” coordinating fabrics 21-22” long.  You can prewash or starch before cutting and you’ll still have enough fabric to be able to be cut into 5” by 5” squares. Please have your 48 squares cut prior to class. I found using a small patterned fabric paired with one that reads solid helped the pattern to be seen better. When making this again, I’d use ½ small patterned fabrics and ½ fabrics that read as solids.

• 1/4 yard border fabric (not needed during class)

• ½ yard for backing (not needed for the class)

• ¼ yard for binding (not needed for the class)
