Jelly Roll Rug with Jean - De Pere
Have a jelly roll or two laying around you like but don’t know what to do with it? We have just the class for you!! Bring your jelly roll in for this 2 session workshop and let’s make a designer rug!!
We will be sewing together your fabric strips, inserting batting and sewing them all together to make a completed 30x44 oval rug.
Supplies needed:
One jelly roll, or 42 strips width of fabric 2 ½ inches wide.
One roll of batting that is 2 ¼ inches wide.
A sewing machine that will do a straight stitch and a zig zag.
Plenty of filled bobbins!!!
Jeans, Microtex, or topstitch sewing machine needles. (Bring a couple for just-in-case.)
Thread that contrasts or matches, your choice. I used 50# thread.
Optional but very helpful: a ¼ inch foot with or without a guide and Jelly Roll Tube Maker by the Gypsy Quilter. If you have an extension table for your machine, it is very helpful to keep your rug flat as you sew and finally a Stiletto would be very helpful if you have one.
